Knight Capture is now a race either player can win. Every opposing piece except the knight counts as a target; taking the opposing knight still ends the game at once for its owner, but clearing every other piece wins. Counting the knight itself made the game a chase that one colour won from every starting position tested, so a learner playing White could not win. The lesson's board and its recorded narration are unchanged. A network mini-game names the referee's rules version, so both Macs need this version to play a mini-game together. Mini-games now choose their opponent per game. A game offers Gentle, Steady and Strong only where calibration measured a real difference between the levels; a game in progress keeps the level it began with, and choosing another level offers a new game at that level. A finished mini-game shows a review of what a proof search established about it, such as a forced win that was available in a given number of moves, and nothing is said during play. With a voice sign-in the review's facts can be read aloud word for word; without one the sheet says why and offers the sign-in check when it is asked for. Training records written by a newer version are kept aside instead of making all training read-only: an attempt or a retry this version cannot read is preserved unchanged and counted in the storage limits, and the rest of training stays writable. The preview of training's position games and guided-game levels, the training voice coach, and LAN play from a chosen position or a mini-game remain off in this release. Automated acceptance covered every gate on the test Mac, including the Intel build under Rosetta, the LAN pair and the real pointer gates. A live check, with no microphone or speaker, ran the coach's English, Chinese and Spanish turns, a network game's hints, a mini-game review reading and a training game's coach turn, with every narrated segment verified. No person has yet played the new preview features.
