XiaolaiDict 发布 v0.0.8

XiaolaiDict 发布了 v0.0.8。

这个版本更新了什么#

Hover was showing the wrong sentence, and this release is mostly about why. The sentence you hovered over is now the sentence you read. Apple's text recognition does not return one observation per line of the screen — where a line has a wide gap in it, it comes back in halves. XiaolaiDict took the half the pointer landed on and joined it to whatever lined up above, so the sentence it showed you, stored in your history and handed to the sense selector could be two pieces of two different lines. On the capture that found this it was are still on disk. because lve added case-tahle entrieci — 56 characters of two lines — where the real paragraph was 258 characters. Fragments are grouped into lines before anything else happens now. And it is your pane's sentence, not the pane beside it. A window with two terminal panes side by side is one band of text as far as recognition is concerned, and the gutter between the panes was being compared against the height of a line as though a horizontal distance and a vertical one were the same measurement. On a band 2560 points wide and 140 tall, a 122-point gutter looked smaller than a line was tall, so the other pane's text was merged into the sentence you were reading. Both are measured in points now. A doubtful reading reads as doubtful. The confidence shown for a sentence was the confidence of the single fragment the pointer happened to be over. On that same capture the word under the pointer was read perfectly, at 1.00, while the sentence around it contained a misreading at 0.30 — and the whole thing was presented as certain. A sentence is now only as trustworthy as its least trustworthy piece. "This may be cut off" now describes the sentence, not the screenshot. It was measured over the whole captured block, so it warned about sentences in the middle of a block that cannot be cut, and stayed silent when a line wrapped straight through the edge of what could be captured — which is the one case it exists for. Hover can be a double-tap of the key instead of a hold. Every modifier already means something: Option is Meta in a terminal, it types special characters, and it changes what a click does. Holding it for any of those with the pointer resting over a word gave you a lookup you had not asked for. Two presses inside 400 ms is something nobody does by accident. Hold is still the default and the key is still yours — Settings → Hover now has a Key and a Gesture. And a double-tap means a double-tap: ⌥← twice is not one, nor is ⌘C then ⌘V, because keys, clicks, scrolls and held chords all cancel a half-made pair. "Never look up on these sites" says that it does not work yet. It never did — nothing in the hover path knows which page it is looking at, so an entry in that list could not refuse a capture. The list is kept, because what you have put in it is worth keeping for when enforcement arrives, but a control that quietly does nothing is worst of all when you are trusting it to keep a site out of your history. The footer now says which of the two is true. Smaller: the menu went on saying "hold ⌥" after you chose Double-tap; tapping twice over the same word twice in a row was refused as the same place; and turning a dictionary off in Dictionary.app no longer produces failures about code you did not touch. 0.0.7 was built and never published. Everything that was in it is here.
