Mochi 0.9.11 protects your library better, listens more reliably hands-free, and tightens what assistants connected through MCP can do.
- Library format 6. Mochi 0.9.10 and earlier cannot open a library once 0.9.11 has saved it. Before its first save, Mochi keeps a copy of your current library beside it, so you can go back if you need to.
- If your library file goes missing while an earlier copy or backup is still there, Mochi no longer starts an empty library over it. It refuses to save and offers Restore Earlier Copy.
- A backup now exports even when some recordings are missing, and says how many were left out. Importing a backup with missing recordings keeps their messages.
- Hands-free listening no longer treats steady background noise, such as a fan or a café, as speech. A connection that sat idle is refreshed before you speak, and a turn whose connection drops midway is still sent instead of being lost.
- With "Start listening after Mochi replies", a recording that hears nothing for 8 seconds is discarded and the microphone turns off, so it no longer loops while you are away.
- Escape stops Mochi only in the conversation window. It no longer stops listening from Settings or the desktop Mochi's message bar.
- Closing the window to the menu bar no longer cancels a reply Mochi is preparing, and pauses hands-free listening until the window returns, rather than turning it off. Deleting one message no longer stops listening or other transcriptions.
- Editing a transcript pauses hands-free listening while the sheet is open.
- Assistants connected through MCP: a template they delete goes to Recently Deleted in Manage Templates, where you can recover it. Template changes wait while Mochi is busy or a sheet is open, just as other changes do. Titles and expressions have length limits, and creation is capped per hour. Settings lists every change an assistant can make.
- A shortcut that can no longer be read is left unassigned, and Settings says so, instead of falling back to the default.
- Several crashes and text issues are fixed, including the practice word check crashing on some characters, and opening punctuation such as ¿ and « being dropped from an interrupted reply. Requires Apple Silicon and macOS 14 or later. The app and DMG are Developer ID signed, notarized, and stapled.
