Checkmate 0.3.0 is a native macOS 27 chess app for Apple Silicon.
- Practice against offline Stockfish 19 with custom skill and engine Elo controls.
- Explore 40 lessons, 83 quizzes and 87 puzzles, with 947 offline Cedar narration clips and computer opponents for lesson mini-games.
- Inspect protected and attacked pieces, use theme-aware highlights and move arrows, and demonstrate reversible imagined lines.
- Connect Codex through Settings. The bundled native Swift MCP companion requires no Node, pnpm or source checkout.
- Try the opt-in PGN/FEN game-review pilot without changing the original game. The app and disk image are signed, notarized and stapled. Automated native, companion, UI and package checks passed. Human game-review, novice-play and audible/microphone acceptance remain pending; pilot features remain opt-in. Install:
