A Claude Code plugin that turns Claude into a careful, professional IT person for someone who is not a programmer.
What it does#
Twelve plain-language commands: health checkups, safe cleanup, file organising with undo, evidence-first problem diagnosis, real backups with a restore drill, home-network diagnosis, building your own private internet connection, automation, and a tutor that explains what just happened using your machine's own numbers.
Type _it in any Claude session to summon it.
What makes it trustworthy#
Memory you can read, that retires itself. Everything it knows lives in ~/ITGuy/ as plain text you can edit. Every fact is tagged with how it was learned, and every conclusion carries a date by which it must be retested — reproduce and it stays, fail and it is retired with a note. Retired beliefs move to history.md rather than vanishing, and ledger.jsonl records every change.
Rails, not promises. Four things are enforced by code, with 116 assertions run on every push:
When a chore repeats it builds you a small named tool with a plain-language README and a double-clickable preview — and it offers them before you know to ask, using your own numbers.
Requirements#
macOS. Answers in your language while everything on disk stays English, so your tools stay portable. MIT licensed.
